Six reasons to choose one of our 6 berth touring caravans

When we design our caravans and motorhomes at Bailey of Bristol, we work on one simple principal; high specifications at superb value for money with no hidden extras. And of course, every caravan owner wants something slightly different, which is why we make our vehicles with a choice of size, berths and layouts.

For the 2022 season, we have two 6 berth touring caravans available, both in our Pegasus Grande SE range.

These are the Palermo and the Turin. Both are designed to be stylish and spacious to accommodate your family and friends in up to 25% more interior space.

As these caravans are 8ft wide twin axles, you will need a larger tow car such as the Volvo XE-90 or Land Rover Discovery, and a driving licence with the B+E entitlements.

Here are six reasons to choose one of our 6 berth touring caravans from Bailey of Bristol

They give you even more space inside

The Pegasus Grande SE range of caravans are built on an AL-KO one-piece galvanised steel chassis and are one of our two 8ft wide caravan ranges (the other range being the Alicanto Grande). The range contains both single and twin axle models (both the Palermo and the Turin are twin axle) and are designed for both touring and siting on a seasonal pitch.

With up to 25% more interior space, the Pegasus Grande SE range gives you more room for entertaining guests and relaxing.

They’re made with Alu-Tech construction

All current Bailey caravans and motorhomes are made with Alu-Tech construction. Alu-Tech is Bailey’s own unique approach to bodyshell construction, offered by no other caravan manufacturer , which makes the shell more robust and durable than anything else.

Alu-Tech uses a unique interlocking aluminium framework to clamp the body panels together. Along with a significant reduction in external joints and fixing points, timber-free components in the upper bodyshell panels and thicker, better insulated panels cloaked in GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), Alu-Tech offers genuine four-season performance to keep you comfortable and secure all year round.

A choice of family layouts

These two 6 berth models both have a slightly different layout so you can choose the 6 berth that best suits your family. In both the Palermo and Turin layouts, you get a front lounge with parallel seats, a dedicated dinette dining area that can be converted into a double bed at night, a well-equipped kitchen, and a rear washroom with shower, toilet and sink in the back corner of the caravan. The difference between these models is the choice that you get in sleeping arrangements.

In the Palermo, the space next to the washroom is occupied by two fixed bunk beds (which are 6ft 2in long and 2ft 4in wide – making them great bunk beds for growing children) and an additional rear end pop-up dinette with a pull out stool containing storage. This makes the rear of this family caravan great as a children’s bedroom and play area, while the adults can make up the double bed in the front lounge at night, with the option to create an additional double bed from the dinette area.

Meanwhile in the Turin, the rear bedroom space is occupied by a fixed double bed. This allows two people to be able to have a double bed permanently made up, leaving the option at the front of the caravan for one or two double beds to be made up as required from the lounge area and the dinette area. Alternatively, the front lounge seats are up to 6ft 3in long, allowing for them to be used as two single beds. This configuration of up to 3 double beds or 2 doubles and 2 singles means the whole family can holiday together.

A family-sized kitchen and space to dine

The central kitchen is a real focal point of both of our 6 berth caravans. Each comes filled with cupboard space, workspace and appliances ready for holidaymakers to create a feast for their family and friends. The worktop is created with a ‘Nordic Stone’ laminate and there is a branded kitchen splashback with silver detailing.

Both the Palermo and the Turin come with a stainless steel round kitchen sink, Dometic 10-series 153 litre electronic fridge freezer with universal handed door mechanism – so you are able to open the door from either side – and a microwave with a non-moving ceramic hotplate. Also included is a Thetford ‘K-Series’ combined oven, grill and hob (with 3 gas burners and an electric hotplate) which is perfect for creating family meals.

The dropdown hob cover also allows for worktop space when the hob is not in use to give you room to prepare ingredients before cooking.

The kitchen and dinette area in the Palermo and Turin

Alongside the kitchen is the dinette area that seats up to 4 people, so you can easily get meals from the kitchen and onto the table. In the Palermo, there is the separate child sized dinette at the back of the caravan, so children can have their own seating area. In both models, you also have a freestanding table stored in the wardrobe that can be used in the lounge, so there is plenty of space for everyone to eat together.

Plenty of storage

Both models have acres of storage, meaning you have plenty of room to store all the things needed for a family of six. There is a large wardrobe that is comparable to the size of one that you would have at home, that also holds the freestanding table for the lounge.

In both the Palermo and the Turin, there is storage available under the large dinette (also under the rear dinette in the Palermo), and under the rear bedroom and under the front lounge – both of these areas can be accessed through exterior locker doors. In addition, you have Italian design overhead lockers in the kitchen and lounge that have a ‘Light Oak’ furniture finish and a ‘Canvas’ textured contrasting stripe.

Your own washroom with shower

Both the Palermo and the Turin have their own washroom which includes a white gloss shower cubicle with bi-fold partition doors and integral lighting, plus a Thetford toilet and hand basin with mixer tap. Having your own washroom means that you can choose not to use the campsite facilities if you prefer to stick to your own bathroom, but also allows you to stay in places where facilities are not available onsite. With a family it is also useful to have your own toilet on-board to avoid those middle of the night trips to the toilet block!

We hope this has given you 6 great reasons to consider a 6 berth caravan from Bailey of Bristol. Both the Pegasus Grande SE Turin and Palermo offer a great range of features to help large families or couples with friends holiday with a lot of style and even more space.
