Open all-year round, the Trevaylor Caravan and Camping Park is a family-run site close to the rugged West Cornwall coastline. An ideal base for couples and families alike, this is the spot for anybody looking to immerse themselves in the great outdoors.
Budemeadows Touring Park is a great family owned site situated in the stunning seaside location of Bude, North Cornwall. Out of season, it’s a quiet escape, but during summer months, it is the place to keep the kids entertained.
Rosebud Farm Touring Park is an exclusive and quiet site for couples only. With 50 pitches overlooking the Bodmin Moor, Rosebud Farm is open all-year and is ideal for dog walkers.
Fancy some wild swimming? With its dramatic coastline, sandy coves and rugged scenery, there are plenty of secret places scattered throughout this part of the UK, if you want to escape the crowds. What could be more appealing than trying the secret, spring-fed quarry lake of Goldiggins Quarry, the breath-taking bay of Porthcurno, Penwith or the plunge pool at St Nectan’s Kieve, Tintangel.
With its grand opening over Easter weekend, the Retallack Aqua Park is an action-packed day of family fun. This huge inflatable water park has a giant trampoline, climbing walls, blast bags and much, much more, as you jump, splash, bounce, climb and slide around the huge ‘total wipe-out’ style course.
Newquay Water Sports Centre is a must for lovers of water-based activities. With activities such as raft safari, surf lessons and coasteering – an activity that involves movement across a rocky coastline on foot or by swimming, without the aid of boats, surf boards or other craft – you’ll never be stuck for an activity that will take your fancy.
Boscastle and the Valency Valley Walk
Beginning in the picturesque seaside village of Boscastle, this 4-mile trek explores the cliffs above Boscastle’s natural harbour before you head inland across the Valency Valley, alongside its meandering River.
Lizard Point
Take in the most dramatic of views as this short 1-mile walk takes you along the most southerly place in Britain – Lizard Point. Starting at the National Trust car park, over the forty-minute hike, you’ll experience, the Lizard Lighthouse, join the South West Coast Path and bask in the views as you look out west towards Kynance Cove and beyond.
Tree plantations at Penrose
Enjoy the local wildlife and parkland on this dog friendly, 1.5-mile ramble through one of the tree plantations at Penrose. Taking in the stunning views, immerse yourself in the history of Penrose Manor, as this part of the woodland comes alive with the colours of spring flowers.
Lodged at the bottom of an old china clay pit, the Eden Project – the largest greenhouses in the world – have become Cornwall’s most celebrated landmark, and an essential visit.
Connected to the mainland at Marazion via a cobbled causeway, St Michael’s Mount is one of Cornwall’s most iconic images. The rocky island is an unforgettable sight, crowned by a medieval church and castle, and should not be missed when visiting Cornwall.
Situated just outside St Keverne, Roskillys Farm produces some of Cornwall’s most delicious ice cream, alongside its fantastic fudge and yummy yoghurt. Spend a lovely afternoon strolling round this organic farm and visit the Croust House Restaurant, with its delicious homemade food.
No matter where your feet on your coastal adventure, always make sure that safety is your top priority. Tell people where you go, make sure you take a phone with you and take extra care, no matter what you do.
