Campervan Equipment: What’s Included in the Bailey Endeavour Range?

The range of temperatures the Endeavour and I experienced was somewhat extreme, from having to open the side and rear doors to allow a cooling breeze to flow through, to a freak weather system plunging temperatures in The Dolomites to -20C.
From off-grid adventures to campsite comforts, let’s talk about the equipment that makes this possible.
The Ford Transit Base Vehicle

The Bailey Endeavour is built on the Ford Transit platform. It features a 2.0L EcoBlue diesel engine that delivers 165bhp. This is coupled to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which comes as standard. The Italian Dolomites served as a great test for this combo, and I’m pleased to report that it handled the mountain roads with ease—no struggling up steep inclines or worrying about sluggish performance.
Up front, the cab is well-equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. That means seamless navigation and instant access to your favourite road trip playlists. 80s classics, anyone?
Compared to larger leisure vehicle outfits, campervans feel incredibly manageable. Navigating narrow lanes, reversing onto tight pitches, or parking up for a scenic coastal stop is a breeze thanks to large door mirrors and a reversing camera. Being easy to park in supermarket car parks or even spaces at work, quite a few people I’ve spoken to use a campervan as a second car, which can save money. Using leisure vehicle money-saving logic, any money saved means that trips away are free, right?
Drive the Bailey Endeavour with a standard car licence

The Bailey Endeavour is designed with a Maximum Technically Permissible Laden Mass (MTPLM) of 3,500kg, meaning it can be driven with a standard Category B car driving licence without the need for a C1 entitlement. Do you hold a regular car licence? You can drive any model from the Endeavour range.
Solar Power: Freedom to roam off-grid
One of the biggest joys of campervan life is waking up on a remote campsite, especially one without electric hook-ups, as this can deter other visitors. Thanks to the Endeavour’s 100W solar panel, you can extend off-grid stays without worrying about draining your leisure battery. While the battery alone powers essentials like lighting, heating, cooker ignition, fridge, and water system, the solar panel ensures you’re not constantly chasing electrical hook-ups.
Keeping warm in all seasons
If you love year-round travel, you’ll appreciate the Endeavour’s Truma Combi 4E heating system. What’s special about this campervan heating? Instead of relying on gas, it integrates with the vehicle’s diesel supply, making it practical and cost-effective. Waking up to crisp mountain air or tackling winter road trips? No problem—push a button, and the van quickly warms up. We proved this with an Endeavour B62, thanks to nighttime lows of -20°C
Speaking of warmth, the Endeavour has also passed the all-important Grade 3 insulation test. If you’re unfamiliar with that term, it means the campervan is placed in a freezer at -15°C and must reach +20°C within four hours. If it can handle that, it can definitely keep you warm on a chilly night.
Unlike camping, a refreshing shower wherever you go

A hot shower is a must after a long day of hiking, cycling, or even skiing. The Endeavour’s washroom is cleverly designed with a practical shower setup, supported by a 90L fresh water tank and a 55L waste water tank. Thanks to the Truma Combi 4E, hot water is always available—even in freezing conditions. Nothing beats stepping into your campervan shower after a day on walking trails or a sandy beach.
Campervan Cooking made easy with the PRIMA Leisure Air Fryer

If you love good food but don’t want the hassle of complicated cooking, a low wattage air fryer designed for leisure vehicles is a great addition to your Bailey Endeavour setup. This compact and efficient appliance is perfect for rustling up quick, tasty meals with minimal effort.
Air fryers circulate hot air to cook food evenly, giving food a crispy, golden finish without needing lots of oil. That means you can enjoy everything from roasted veggies to grilled chicken—all with less fat and mess. Plus, since they’re small and energy-efficient, they won’t occupy much space in your campervan.
Campervan awnings: Shade, Space & Storage Solutions

Thule wind-out awning fitted as standard on the Endeavour range:
The Bailey Endeavour range comes with a Thule wind-out awning as standard. These are permanently attached to the side of your campervan and can be extended when needed and quickly retracted when it’s time to hit the road. They provide almost instant shelter from the sun or rain without needing extra setup. Some key advantages include:
• Quick and easy to use – simply wind out the awning in seconds.
• Compact and space-saving – no need to pack and store it separately.
• Great for sun and rain protection – provides shade on hot days and keeps you dry in wet weather.
Driveaway campervan Awnings: Are they like a caravan awning?
Driveaway awnings function like a caravan awning, except they can be left in place when you drive away, hence the name. They create a fully enclosed extra space, making them perfect for longer stays or when you want a separate area for relaxing, sleeping, or storage. Benefits of driveaway awnings include:
• Extra living or sleeping space – ideal for families or groups who need more room.
• Detachable and freestanding – you can leave it set up while you take your campervan for a day out.
• Variety of sizes and styles – from lightweight shelters to full-sized awning rooms with windows and doors.
Driveaway awnings can be either inflatable (air awnings) or traditional pole awnings.
Other Features and Benefits of Campervan Awnings
Regardless of the type of awning you choose, several extra features can enhance your experience:
• Side panels and mesh screens – provide additional privacy and protection from insects.
• Groundsheets and flooring – help keep the space clean and dry.
• Weatherproof materials – ensure durability and protection from the elements.
• Windows and ventilation – create a bright, airy space that doesn’t feel cramped.
Which Campervan Awning is Right for You?
A fixed wind-out awning is a great, simple, quick solution for short stops. If you need extra space and the flexibility to leave your setup behind while you explore, a driveaway awning is the way to go. Think about how you travel, how much space you need, and how often you’ll set up camp. Further details and a wide range of products can be found at the Prima Leisure online shop.
