Bailey completes the line-up of its award-winning Unicorn range with the introduction of the Merida at the NEC show
Bailey of Bristol will be completing the line-up of its Unicorn range with the introduction of the Merida at the NEC show.
The new 2-berth Merida will go on display for the first time on Stand 30.20 at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show from 19th – 24th February at the NEC, Birmingham. The Merida is a single axle 2-berth layout featuring a spacious parallel front lounge, a well-appointed central kitchen and end washroom.
With an MTPLM of 1330kg and under 5 metres in length, the Merida is an extremely light, yet spacious vehicle, and joins the existing ten models launched in 2017, which are currently available to view at Bailey retailers across the country.
Full details of the new Unicorn Merida can be found here.
With Unicorn firmly established as the UK’s most popular premium caravan range, the development of the fourth generation of this proven best-seller was not a task to be taken lightly. The process took eighteen months to complete, included input from both customer and retailer product focus groups as well as both accelerated life track and cold chamber testing. The resulting vehicles represent a real step forward in Bailey caravan design with the dramatic looks both inside and out really setting it apart from previous Unicorn incarnations. Add to that improved layout execution and choice, enhanced specification levels, accessible unladen weights and a competitive retail price and it is easy to see why the Bailey Unicorn is already proving to be such an attractive proposition to prospective customers.
As with all Bailey leisure vehicles, models are built using our patented Alu-Tech construction technology, cloaked in a GRP outer skin, making them more robust, more durable and yet lighter than those manufactured using conventional methods to offer greater protection against the elements to keep you comfortable, safe and secure all year round. To date 60,000 Bailey leisure vehicles have been built with this ground-breaking technology and are currently being used around the world.
To ensure that this eye-catching investment remains safe on the road and secure on site it is fitted with the latest safety and security equipment, including the AL-KO ATC Trailer Control System, AL-KO Secure wheel lock (two on twin axle models), TyrePal TPMS and a TRACKER Monitor Stolen Vehicle Recovery System with an integral intruder alarm as standard specification.
Incorporating the same ‘design DNA’ as the company’s premium motorhome ranges, the interiors of the Unicorn caravan range have been totally transformed. The Bailey ‘Eucalyptus’ furniture finish combines the ‘Basalt’ stone worktops to create light and spacious interiors which are beautifully showcased by the signature Bailey vertical front skylight by day and a sophisticated LED task and mood lighting system by night. All models feature domestic style sofa seating in the front lounge, available in a choice of either Brompton (standard) or Finsbury (cost option) fabrics, both of which are supplied with a full complement of bolster and scatter cushions.
Unicorn’s four-season touring credentials are further enhanced with a fully specified Alde programmable central heating system, featuring a user-friendly digital control panel with battery back-up for uninterrupted programming, that has been thoroughly cold chamber tested to ensure optimum performance. Whilst a roof mounted Truma 100 watt solar panel allows you the additional freedom to enjoy off-grid caravan holidays.
These well thought-out vehicles include a host of features designed to make ownership more enjoyable. Feature kitchens offer extra worktop space and storage options and all come equipped with boutique washrooms that include unique built-in Thetford cassette toilets, pedestal hand basins and full width backlit mirrors (model specific).
Attention to detail is highlighted by practical touches throughout the caravan, such as the fitment of up to seven 230v sockets and eight USB charging points, an upgraded Bluetooth compatible sound system and even pre-wiring for the fitment of a caravan motor mover*, meaning that everything has been considered to make holidays in the Bailey Unicorn as relaxing as possible.
Commenting on the launch of the new Unicorn Merida, Managing Director, Nick Howard said: “The fourth generation Unicorn range is a real step forward in Bailey caravan design, and the new Merida layout offers more choice for the discerning caravan owner. Add to that comprehensive specification levels, accessible unladen weights and a competitive retail price and we believe, the fourth generation Unicorn range is an extremely attractive proposition.”
A selection of the Unicorn layouts, including the award-winning Cabrera and Segovia, will be on display on Stand 30.20 at the forthcoming Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show 2019 at the NEC, Birmingham from Tuesday 19th – Sunday 24th February.
