Arriving on site: Motorhome hob, oven and grill
Cooking equipment has come a long way since Bailey produced their first caravan in 1948. Today, cooking a roast dinner for the family is as easy as doing so at home, but if you're new to cooking in your motorhome, here's how the oven, hob, and grill work.
- Before using the cooking equipment, ensure the drop-down hob cover and glass lid are lifted.
- Open the gas cylinder if you’re planning to use anything gas-powered such as hob gas burners, oven, or grill. This won’t be necessary if you only use the electric hot plate.
- To use the gas hob, press the knob for the desired ring and turn to the required setting, letting it release gas for a couple of seconds. Press the igniter until lit. Hold the knob in for a couple of seconds before releasing it. The temperature is controlled by turning the knob clockwise or anticlockwise.
- The grill and oven are lit in the same way. Again, the temperature is controlled by turning the knob, with the oven displaying temperature settings on the control knob itself.
- Before lowering the glass lid and drop-down hob cover, ensure all appliances are off, and all hob rings have cooled down.
- Always use the correct size pan for the hob. The recommended pan size is 18cm.
