Bailey of Bristol leisure vehicles claims award double in The Caravan and Motorhome Club Motorhome Design Awards

The all-new Alora 69-4S was voted top Three or Four Berth Coachbuilt motorhomes 7 metres & under, whilst the recently introduced Endeavour B64 campervan also won the best Van Conversion with a rising or pop top roof 6 metres & under.

In addition, there were runner-up awards for Bailey models in a further two categories to complete a strong showing by the whole motorhome and campervan portfolio in 2024 competitions.

All of these award-winning vehicles will shortly be available to view at selected Approved Bailey Retailers.

The Ford Transit-based Endeavour B64 campervan is 6 metres long and has an MPTLM of 3,500kgs, making it suitable to drive by anyone holding a full UK driving licence, without needing a C1 entitlement. Powered by the latest 2.0 litre 155bhp engine, complete with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, this 4-berth model features a front lounge, with two fold-down rear travel seats, that converts into either twin singles or a double bed at night. At the rear of the vehicle are a well-equipped rear kitchen and a cleverly designed wet room, featuring a space-saving revolving tambour partition screen, whilst up above the front lounge is an additional double bed in a pop-top roof.

In contrast, the Alora 69-4S is one of three new narrow-bodied motorhomes that combine the flexibility of a campervan with the comfort of a coachbuilt vehicle. Again, built on the Ford Transit platform this motorhome is seven metres in length but only just over two metres in width, making it not only easier to drive but also ensuring that it weighs in at that all-important 3,500kg mark. This time powered by a 2.0 litre 130bhp engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox (with an automatic gearbox available as a cost upgrade), the 4-bert Alora 69-4S features a parallel front lounge, with two fold-down rear travel seats, which converts into a double bed at night. Moving through the vehicle there is a well-equipped central kitchen and a cleverly designed wet room, featuring a sliding vanity unit and a space-saving revolving tambour partition, whilst at the rear is a raised transverse fixed double bed over a full-width end garage.

The Motorhome and Campervan Design Awards offer fair, independent, and objective assessments of the vehicles submitted for scrutiny. The information and data gathered during the judging process are invaluable in enabling people to make informed choices when buying a new motorhome or campervan.

Judging took place during the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show at the NEC in February and via a desktop assessment before the physical inspection of the vehicles. A total of sixty motorhomes and campervans were examined by an independent panel of judges, followed by a rigorous scoring checklist assessing everything from comfort, practicality, safety, and security.
