What are Club Sites?
For the purposes of this article, club sites are sites that are run by or affiliated to the Caravan and Motorhome Club or the Camping and Caravanning Club.
Both these organisations offer benefits to their members alongside their campsites such as discounts, expert advice, access to products and services, club magazines and mobile phone booking apps.
Club members are owners of caravans, motorhomes, campervans and other leisure vehicles, and are able to make use of year-round access to club sites both in the UK and Europe.
Both club’s site network stretches the length and breadth of the UK and offer everything from large family sites with plenty of facilities, to smaller, quieter sites in more secluded locations.
Both clubs also have sites in Europe, so if you wanted to travel further afield, you can search for sites to visit in places such as France or Spain and also enjoy discounts on ferry crossings and Eurotunnel.

Why should I stay on a Club Site?
The benefit of staying on a Camping and Caravanning Club or Caravan and Motorhome Club site is that you’ll find well run sites with great facilities and a friendly team to take care of you.
And it’s not just club sites. There are also other types of site to choose from including those that are available to members only.
Find out more about these different types of site below…
Are there other types of campsite besides Club Sites?
When booking through the Caravan and Motorhome Club or the Camping and Caravanning Club, there are typically three main site options:
- Club sites
- Affiliated (Caravan and Motorhome Club) or Listed (Camping and Caravanning Club) sites
- Certified campsites known as Certified Locations (Caravan and Motorhome Club) or Certified Sites (Camping and Caravanning Club)
Club Sites
In the United Kingdom, both clubs offer a network of their own sites offering a variety of facilities and holiday experiences.
The amenities at these sites vary, but they typically include restrooms and showers and a variety of pitch types ranging from fully serviced hardstanding to grass without an electric hook-up.
Membership to the associated club also gives you a discount when you book a club site.
Certified Sites and Certified Locations
Certified Sites (offered by the Camping and Caravanning Club) and Certified Locations (offered by the Caravan and Motorhome Club) are small privately owned sites that can accommodate up to 5 caravans and/or motorhomes at a time. They are exclusively available to members of the respective clubs.
Facilities vary from drinking water and waste disposal only, up to sites with hardstanding pitches, electrical hook-ups and showers.
There are thousands of these sites in many different locations across the country, often in secluded and beautiful locations that you may otherwise have missed.
Affiliated and Listed Sites
An Affiliated Site is a privately owned site in the Caravan and Motorhome Club network. They provide a range of facilities not normally available in at club owned sites or are in a location where there is not a club site.
A Listed Site is one that is listed by the Camping and Caravanning Club. These are not officially recommended by the club but are visited by Voluntary Site Officers from the Camping and Caravanning Club to ensure they meet basic heath and safety standards before they are listed.
You can find both Affiliated and Listed sites on the respective club’s websites.
Can non-members use Club Sites?
Non-members of both clubs are able to book and stay on Club Sites. However, only members are able to book to stay at Certified Sites and Certified Locations.
Becoming a member also means you get a discount on bookings at Club Sites with both clubs.
What facilities do Club Sites have?
Across the Caravan and Motorhome Club and Camping and Caravanning Club sites networks, you can find a selection of the following facilities:
- Facilities for fresh water and waste water
- Washing machines for laundry
- Facilities for the disabled
- WI-FI and electric hook-ups
- Well-maintained toilet and shower facilities
At Certified Locations and Certified Sites, the facilities may be as basic as access to drinking water and waste disposal, so always double check what you will have access to before booking.
Many club sites feature more luxury amenities, and you can also find more unusual and different facilities on Affiliated and Listed sites. These can include things like:
- Games rooms
- Swimming pools and saunas
- Clubhouses
- Golf Courses
- Play areas
- Dog walks
- Site shop
- Fishing Lake
- Cycling Path
When you search on either the Caravan and Motorhome Club or Camping and Caravanning Club websites, you can find a list of amenities against each campsite.
