Behind the Scenes Live Tour 2022

Bailey Marketing Director Simon Howard, and Brand Ambassador, Lee Davey, will be embarking on a two-week tour to visit some of the company’s key supplier partners.

The trip aims to provide people with a greater insight into the components used to make up a Bailey caravan or motorhome, the companies that manufacture them and the key challenges they face in the current climate. The tour covers over 2,000 miles and will include a visit to seven different suppliers located in the UK and Europe. Each visit will involve an interview with a key company representative and a tour of their premises.

The Supplier Partners participating in the tour are as follows:

Simon and Lee will complete the trip in a Pegasus Grande SE Ancona caravan, which feature components from all seven suppliers visited. They will be towing this 8ft wide single axle model with a Ssangyong Rexton provided by the manufacturer and staying at sites campsites booked via The Caravan and Motorhome Club Travel Service.

Talking about the forthcoming trip, Simon Howard commented, “the key challenge facing most businesses at the moment is maintaining its supply chain. Bailey is no different, with up to 12,000 individual parts from over 100 companies going to make up one of our vehicles and coordinating the supply of these items has been especially difficult in recent times”.

“We have, however, been working closely with our key partners during this period to minimize disruption, and we thought that now would be a good time to visit some of them in person to see how they are responding to these challenges”.

Lee Davey also said, “I’ve just had the opportunity to spend a day working on the main caravan assembly line to give me a first-hand insight into how a caravan is built. One of the things that struck me whilst on the line was the tremendous variety of components needed to make a modern leisure vehicle, so I am really interested in finding out more about where and how they are made and by whom”.
