A five-star adventure with the new Bailey Alicanto Grande
Available from February, the second generation Alicanto starts life as a two-caravan range comprising of the new single axle Lisbon and the existing twin axle Porto layouts. Built-in an 8ft wide body shell this pair of 4-berth models both feature the popular centre-washroom rear longitudinal island bedroom configuration, which has been refined further with the introduction of new king-sized double beds and a rear external storage boot to provide enhanced comfort and practicality. Despite their size, the unladen weights of these new Alicanto models remain surprisingly low meaning they are perfectly suited for either touring or seasonal use.
Alicanto Grande Series 2 Line-up
- Alicanto Grande Lisbon - NEW single axle, 4-berth longitudinal double bed, centre-washroom
- Alicanto Grande Porto - Twin axle, 4-berth longitudinal island double bed, centre-washroom
As with all Bailey leisure vehicles models are built using our patented Alu-Tech construction technology, cloaked in a GRP outer skin, making them more robust, more durable, and yet lighter than those manufactured using conventional methods to offer greater protection against the elements to keep you comfortable, safe, and secure all year round. To date over 70,000 Bailey leisure vehicles have been built with this ground-breaking technology and are currently being used around the world.
This high-performance body shell has been enhanced visually through the introduction of a new aerodynamic front profile, new front and rear mouldings, new flush-fit ‘Puima’ side windows and a bold new silver graphics scheme, to announce Alicanto owners travel and arrive in style. In addition to looking good, models also come with a host of practical exterior features, not least of which is a new factory-fitted Avtec mobile Wi-Fi system (including an introductory data and support package) ensuring, should you so wish, that you can remain connected to the outside world whilst on holiday.
To make sure that this eye-catching investment remains safe on the road and secure on-site it is fitted with the latest safety and security equipment, including the AL-KO ATC Trailer Control System, AL-KO Secure wheel lock (two on twin axle models), a TRACKER Monitor Stolen Vehicle Recovery System with an integral intruder alarm plus a new high-security exterior door lock as standard specification.
Models are fitted with a fully specified Alde programmable radiator heating system which allows you to holiday no matter the time of year. This combined with the market-leading thermal characteristics of the Alu-Tech body shell makes the Alicanto Grande a genuine all-weather vehicle, a fact confirmed with the achievement of the highest rating for thermal performance (Grade III Classification of EN1656-I) in rigorous cold chamber testing.
Inside, the new Alicanto is totally transformed with the introduction of a new vertical front infinity window. Half as big again as the previous incarnation this signature Bailey design feature floods the caravan with natural light indoors and provides a view like no other outdoors.
Interior décor has been expertly refined with the introduction of new Bailey ’Light Oak’ furniture, which combines with contrasting ‘Cashmere’ decorative finishes and ‘Light Stone’ worktops to provide the new Bailey Alicanto with that unmistakable touch of class. While upgraded LED task and mood lighting throughout, including a new RGB ambient lighting system, ensures Alicanto looks every bit as good by night as it does by day. Lounging comfort is assured with sprung cushion soft furnishings including curved corner backrests with headrests, in a choice of either standard ‘Portobello’ or optional ‘Latimer’ fabric schemes. The same is also true in the bedrooms where new king-sized pocket sprung mattresses on beech slat bed bases give the promise of a good nights’ rest.
Feature kitchens provide up to 25% more work surface plus 30% more cupboard storage capacity thanks to their L-shaped design. New features such as an under-mounted circular sink with a flush fit cover and integrated drainer, plus a branded Perspex splashback with chrome detailing are both stylish and practical. Whilst the headline acts in a comprehensive list of branded kitchen appliances are the latest Dometic 10-series refrigerators, featuring a universal handed door mechanism, and a new Omnivent rooflight mounted extractor fan.
As practical as it is comfortable the new Alicanto includes a host of clever features designed to make your life easier. Inside, for example, models feature up to six 230v and six USB sockets, including two in a new wireless charging pad, to ensure everybody in the family can remain powered up. Whilst the inclusion of a roof-mounted Status 570 digital television aerial, an external satellite connection point and two television wall mounts means everything is set up ready for your evening entertainment*.
Commenting on these latest additions to the Bailey of Bristol caravan portfolio Managing Director Nick Howard said, “The new Alicanto is our most luxurious range yet and really takes Bailey caravan design to a new level in terms of style and specification.”
Models from the new Alicanto range will be on display for the first time at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show, NEC Birmingham, from 22nd to 27th February 2022.
